People-Pleasing & Self-Worth Therapy in Littleton and Throughout Colorado

Maybe you’re the person people count on. You’re thoughtful, helpful, and good at taking care of things. But you may have a hard time saying no, worry about disappointing people, or spend a lot of time thinking about what other people think or need.

You might agree to things you don’t really want to do, keep your feelings to yourself, or have a hard time asking for help. You’re tired, but it can still feel easier to take care of everyone else than to deal with the guilt that comes with taking care of yourself.

When being the “easy” one stops working.

People pleasing often starts for a reason. Maybe you learned to keep the peace, avoid conflict, or pay close attention to how other people were feeling. You may have learned that being helpful, agreeable, or low maintenance made relationships feel safer.

Those patterns can work for a long time. Then something changes. You’re burned out. You’re resentful. Your relationships feel strained. You know you need to do something differently, but setting a boundary or saying no still feels really hard.

We’ll look at where these patterns came from and what keeps them going, including the ways they show up in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and body.

Building a stronger sense of yourself.

When you’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what everyone else needs, it can be hard to know what you want or trust yourself to make a decision.

We’ll get clearer about what you need, what matters to you, and what you actually want. We’ll work on self-worth and self-trust, setting boundaries with less guilt, and feeling more comfortable taking up space in your own life.

When you know yourself and feel more comfortable being yourself, you can build relationships that feel deeper, more honest, and more meaningful.
