Anxiety Therapy in Littleton and Throughout Colorado
Maybe your mind feels like it’s always going. You overthink conversations, worry about what might happen, or find yourself replaying things you said and wondering if you should have handled them differently. You may feel overwhelmed, on edge, or just tired of thinking about everything all the time.
Sometimes you know your anxiety is making things feel bigger than they are, but that doesn’t make it any easier to turn it off. When anxiety is loud, it can be hard to know what actually needs your attention and what is just your brain trying to protect you.
Understanding your anxiety
Anxiety isn’t all bad. It’s part of how our minds and bodies try to keep us safe. The problem is when it starts showing up all the time or becomes hard to turn off.
Together, we’ll work on understanding your anxiety and what may be underneath it. We’ll look at what triggers it, how it shows up for you, and what happens in your thoughts, emotions, and body when anxiety takes over.
You won’t get rid of anxiety completely. Instead, we’ll work on feeling more confident in handling anxious thoughts when they come up, so that over time, they don’t feel as loud or overwhelming.
Finding your way through anxiety
When anxiety is loud, it can be hard to know what to pay attention to. You may worry about everything, replay conversations, think through every possible outcome, or have a hard time knowing when to trust your thoughts.
Anxiety is a normal part of being human, but it can start to feel like it’s running your life. In our work, we’ll look at what’s happening in your mind and body, learn ways to settle your nervous system, and create some space from anxious thoughts.
I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and my training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help you understand your anxiety, handle uncertainty, and feel less controlled by it.
questions you may have
-
Anxiety can be a normal response to stress, change, or uncertainty. It may be becoming a problem when you can’t shut off your mind, settle down, or stop worrying, even when you know everything is probably okay. Maybe you’re overthinking, having trouble sleeping, feeling on edge, or finding it hard to be present or do the things you want to do.
You don’t have to wait until anxiety feels overwhelming to ask for help. There’s room to understand what’s happening, find what helps, and feel more grounded when anxiety shows up.

Knowing you’re overthinking doesn’t always make it easier to stop. When your nervous system is activated, your brain may keep searching for answers, trying to predict what could go wrong or figure out how to feel safe. It’s hard to think your way out of anxiety when your body is still on high alert.
We’ll pay attention to both your mind and your body and find ways to help your nervous system settle. This can make it easier to step back from anxious thoughts instead of getting pulled into them and feel more grounded when anxiety shows up.

I want you to feel safe enough within yourself to understand what your anxiety is trying to protect. Sometimes anxiety is connected to old experiences, fears, or wounds that still feel very real in your mind or body. We’ll work together to understand what’s underneath the anxiety, while also finding ways to help you feel more grounded and settled when it shows up.
