Anxiety & Emotional Overwhelm Therapy in Littleton, CO
Anxiety is no joke. It can steal the joy out of any occasion and leave your loved ones wondering where your mind went. At the same time, anxiety is what keeps us, as humans, alive. We need it. The goal is not to get rid of anxiety, but to develop a different relationship with it.
There is a delicate dance where anxiety is there to protect us, but it is not running the show. Learning this balance looks different for each person because everyone’s anxieties and insecurities are shaped by their own experiences, relationships, and life events. Much of my work is helping you understand what it feels like to have anxiety under control, recognize when it starts to creep in, regulate your emotions, and make decisions based on your values rather than your fears.
Bringing children into this world can bring a whole new level of anxiety. Our minds become extra cautious and stay on guard, constantly trying to protect these tiny humans from the moment they enter our lives until the day they leave home. Sometimes, our own anxieties can unintentionally spill over into our parenting, leaving us feeling guilty and disconnected from our children and loved ones. Learning to manage your anxiety does not mean becoming a worry-free parent or person. It means noticing when fear starts to take over and choosing how you want to respond, rather than reacting automatically, so you can stay grounded and present in the moments that matter most.
